Error 2203 Installing Entire Connection on Windows XP

Hi,

I’m getting the following error when trying to install/uninstall any version of Entire Connection on my windows XP Pro system:

Error 2203.Database: C\WINNT\Installer\a5bccb9.API.
Cannot open database file. System error-2147287035

The .API file shown changes everytime I try install or uninstall but the error remains the same. I’ve done google searches and all that I’ve found is that it is related to permissions however all my permissions appear to be set correctly.

Does anybody know how to resolve this problem?

have you tried the hotfix described in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/888310 ?

It seems to be solved with Windows XP SP3.

Hi Juergen,

I’m running XP Pro SP3 and I checked that I have the latest version of the Windows Installer for XP. I tried re-installing Windows Installer, checked that all the permission for NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM are set correctly and still have no luck.

please open a Software AG support request! It sounds like you are running into installer issues. It may be as simple as clearing out your temp directories, but the folks in support are probably best to help you with this problem.
