Database display in Adabas Manager

Hi all,

Following error message is issued when Databases… is clicked in Adabas Manager. Any clue how to resolve this?

Bad HTTP status code 500 received from REQUEST DOCUMENT for URL http://localhost:4980/xml/databaselist?SECTOK=-5299728371813449728.’

this is as far as i got after following instructions from CE guide.

Adabas Manager Communication Client is not running; or specified host name / port number (localhost:4980) of Adabas Manager Communication Client is invalid.
Details.

Even Trace is as follows;

11: AM-DISPP(0132): Dispatcher / Last:2 / Curr:4 / Next:2 / AMDAMN1P
10: AM-MSG(0219): Adabas Manager Communication Client is not running; or specified host name / port number (localhost:4980) of Adabas Manager Communication Client is invalid.
9: AM-ETA1P(0502): #ERROR-STATUS= 4 GDA_LAST/CURRENT/NEXT_FUNCTION= 2 4 0 OCC(…)= 3 BREADCRUMB_FUNCTIONS()= 1 2 4
8: AM-ETA1P(0274): #ERROR-LEVEL= 6 #ERROR-LEVEL-I4= 6 #ERROR-STATUS= 4
7: AM-DISPP(0132): Dispatcher / Last:1 / Curr:2 / Next:4 / AMDBLI1

Tried setting localhost port to 8080 or 4981 not accepted and 4952 just time out.

any clue how to resolve this?

ADABAS MANAGER gives error when DATABASE ADMINISTRATION bar is chosen which is;

‘Database Administration is not allowed by security; contact your security administrator.’

There is no reference to this error message in documentation,
Why is it blocked?

Hi,

this message could appear if the box “Database administration” in the dialog “Configuration and Security->Security” is not checked.

thanks Klaus for the response, manual FIX got goofed up causing this error. A fresh install solved the problem, all is well.
