check UM connectivity and product availability

Hi,

Please let me know on below things.

  1. how to check whether UM server is up and running
  2. how to check the connectivity between UM and IS or UM and other application.

How can we achieve above without using Optimize.

    – Login to Universal Enterprise Manager using nsp://:9000
  2. how to check the connectivity between UM and IS or UM and other application.
    – On IS go to Settings > Messaging > webMethods Messaging Settings > Universal Messaging Connection Alias and configure the UM settings to check the connectivity between IS and UM

How can we achieve above without using Optimize.
– Optimize is not required for the above scenarios, it is used for BAM and OFI

Is there any configuration available or any API which can be used, so that we get an alert/status when umserver is not up and running.
