what is behind the so called x-port module

question: recently i was asked during a presentation ’ what is behind the so called x-port or http server module like ApacheModuleIno '?

the prospect was refering to the GCI interface. is this module a GCI interface module?

The x-port module is a special filter that takes HTTP requests from the path /tamino/… routed through special APIs of Apache and IIS and redirects them using native TCP communication or XTS communication to Tamino. It is not a CGI component.
