I just installed MWS v10.15 through the installer. Plan is to migrate this instance with the existing 10.7 version using the migrate utility.
But the MWS is not starting up. I have run the Database Component Configurator successfully and log file full.log is also generating successfully.
When I try to run the init, start the MWS, I see this error:
Caused by: java.net.BindException: Cannot assign requested address (Bind failed)
Have I missed some post installation steps? So far I have run Database Component Configurator & afterInstallasRoot script.
The exception is not specific to MWS. It usually means that another program is already using the port.
Typically, the case is that the port is already in use, and you can find out through netstat and then find the process through its process id,but based on the second part of the exception “Cannot assign requested address (Bind failed)” there is another possibility. This points to an issue with the hostname to ip address mapping in the etc/hosts .
You could check with your system administrator about this configuration. The log messages generated in the wrapper.log and the full.log should have more information /stacktrace.

I disabled the host name in the /etc/hosts file and the error was gone. The MWS started successfully. Thank you for your suggestions.
