How to create an Employee File and Retrieve data from the file

I am trying to learn ADABAS. Have successfully installed Adabas Community Edition. In database administration on ADABAS manger, I could view the database and file I created. But to progress further, I need support.

I have created a 149 Database and created an Employee file.

  1. How do I insert records to this file ?
  2. How to view the data which has been inserted using STEP 1.
  3. Do I need any additional software like Natural to do Both STEP 1 and STEP 2.

Any information in appreciated. Any Beginners Manual would help me…

The easiest way is to download the Adabas & Natural Community and use NaturalOne for your database access.

If you aren’t familiar with Eclipse, upon which NaturalONE is based, then try Natural for Windows instead. You’ll find it simpler to navigate because it’s focused on Natural.
