How to configure Webmethods with SAP S/4HANA on RISE

Hello Team,
One of our customer is moving to SAP S/4HANA on RISE platform. Also customer is looking to decommission SAP PI system currently getting used for Interface connectivity and want move all integrations to webMethods. We want to understand the Installation steps for webMethods and configurations steps with SAP S/4HANA on RISE?

Please provide your expert comments.

Thanks
Vivek Arya

Hi Vivek,

as long as you can use connections based on RFC protocol (it doesn´t matter if you are using RFC calls or send/receive IDocs) you can opt for the WmSAP Adapter and use the JCo & JCoIDoc libs provided by SAP on their marketplace.
Aks your SAP System Partner to provide you with a proper SAP account for downloading these libs from SAP.

When RFC is not an option, I think that SAP PI will have to remain active as an Interface to convert SOAP calls and/or REST calls into SAP internal protocols.

Which version of wM are you planning to use?
On which platform will the wM suite be hosted?

Regards,
Holger

Hello Holger,

Thanks for the reply.

Which version of wM are you planning to use?
We will be using latest version available.

On which platform will the wM suite be hosted?
Most Probably customer will be using Cloud Platform(Azure).

So the connectivity will be between wM to S/4HANA application hosted on SAP RISE.

Thanks

Hi Vivek,

latest wM version will then be 10.15 if I am not mistaken with WmSAP Adapter 10.1.
Remember to apply latest fixes to IS and SAP Adapter.
Go for the latest SAP libs version 3.1.x then.

Even when running in the Azure cloud (the same applies to almost any cloud, you will need to specify a container with an OS, which SAG offers support for the wM Suite for. This OS needs to be supported by the SAP JCo libs as well as they contain a native lib part for the base JCo connector jar.

The platform, on which S/4 HANA is hosted is not the limiting factor here.

Holger
