Designer restart causing termination of applications launched from external tools configuration

Hello experts,

I am using 10.11 version. I have configured external tools configuration in designer for starting and shutting down IS. Whenever I restart the designer and IS getting shutdown. I had to start IS again. Is there any settings to skip terminating apps launched from external tools configuration when designer restarts?

I realize that I don’t answer your question. But I must admit that I was quite surprised by the idea of using external tools for controlling IS. And I really mean surprised in a completely neutral way :slight_smile: , not as a polite version of “I think this is stupid”.

In that way I am interested to learn about the idea behind this approach, about which I have never heard before.
