Is it possible to install Tamino on RH8 or MDK9 linux based system?
What can be the possible changes of the porting on linux platform (coming from develop under win2k)?
Thx @nto
The only Linux platforms supported by Tamino at the moment are SuSE 8ES, RH 7.2 and RHAS 2.1.
MDK9 is not supported, and as far as I am aware there are no plans to. As for RH8 I know of no plans to support this in the short term, maybe this will change in the long term Unfortunately this is as much as I know.
Maybe someone else will post a more concrete answer for you.
Of course you may decide to run Tamino Server on Windows or a supported Linux platform and have Java clients running on systems such as RH8 - that shouldn’t be a problem since Java is generally portable.
Hope this helps.

In principal it should be possible to get Tamino working fine on (almost) any RH or Mandrake release. However you need to determine whether you require it to work AND for it to be officially supported.
Maybe you should contact Force and ask for details of which distributions will be supported, eg UnitedLinux.
Kind regards,
Simon
Works fine for us on RedHat 8 (with single processor license).
