I’ve been struggling with a problem with one of many trading partners I’m using SSL with and getting the error “iaik.security.ssl.SSLException: First message not ServerHello” with only this one partner. My network/firewall team has exhausted all of the ideas they had for troubleshooting this issue. Does anyone have any ideas as to what might be going on here? I have applied all recommended patches to deal with various iaik errors.

Is this an outbound connection? If yes, the server you are trying to connect may not be configured correctly for HTTPS/SSL.
An SSL session is established by going through a number of steps/handshake. Server Hello is the message sent by the SSL server after an initial client SSL request (client hello).
