Announcing the availability of JDK 7 for the webMethods 8.2.x platform on Windows, Linux and Solaris
Software AG is pleased to announce the certification of the Java JDK 7 for the webMethods 8.2 SPx platform.
Oracle has announced that it is no longer providing public updates to Java SE 6 after February 2013 (see http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/eol-135779.html).
The webMethods product suite 8.2 SPx now supports Java 7 for most products on Windows, Linux, and Solaris
operating systems. A document which explains how to install and reconfigure your 8.2 SPx products to use Java 7 instead of the default which is Java 6 is available here: http://techcommunity.softwareag.com/ecosystem/documentation/webmethods/Configure_Products_To_Use_Java7.htm.
webMethods 8.2 SP2 System Requirements document lists the exact product releases that support Java 7 and the exact release of Java 7 that is supported. All core products except Blaze, Reporting, and BPEL support Java 7. Blaze, Reporting, and BPEL support Java 6. webMethods Adapters System Requirements and webMethods eStandards Modules System Requirements lists the exact adapter and eStandards Module releases, respectively, that support Java 7.
