FAQ: Message "This copy of Cumulocity is not licensed"

Message “at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:748)[:1.8.0_181] Caused by: java.lang.RuntimeException: This copy of Cumulocity is not licensed. Please contact sales@cumulocity.com to obtain a license file”

Solution:

  • rename the licence file (e.g. “clouveredge_x1.licence”) to c8y.licence.
  • re-import VM image and run post installation with the c8y.licece file.
