Detailed explanation of the problem:

I wonder if anyone uses Cumulocity to do license management for software or software features. We want to use the product to both deliver licenses and track them if that’s possible

Hi Dave,

there is no “real” license management functionality. However there are two options:

  1. Using “config” files, however this means customers see that on their device and could potentially change it
  2. Using an own operation for that, this would actually require an ui adaption and the device being capable to understand the logic

Configuration Management is a good approach. You can fetch the license data and see them in the Tenant.
Changing is only possible if the device supports it. It could block any license changes.
