email port gets disabled

We have developed email services for processing flat files coming from our partner as they arrive as email attachments. Sometimes we notice that the email port gets disabled & the file does not get processed until we manually enable the port via the server administrator. Did anybody have this problem before? Any experience shared will be apreciated.

I read your message on the email. We have been trying to figure out a way to get email into the server and scan through message for things. From your message it looks like you have a standing solution to this. It would be great if you could share some knowledge around it.
