Does webMethods uses Port 123??

Hi,

Does webMethods uses Port 123? I have difficulty starting NTP process in the same server. I tried checking using ‘netstat -an’ for Port 123, it does not show up for both UDP or TCP connection. But with webMethod shutdown, NTP process can be started without problems.

NTP uses port 123 as it standard port number.

Can someone advice???

None of our products use port 123 by default.

I do not believe any webMethods component uses port 123 by default. Possibly an IS listener has been configured to use that port after product installation. See the Server Security > Ports page for a list of listeners.

I like www.sysinternals.com TCPView tool (free download). It will tell you what process is using each port on your Windows box. That will nail the culprit.
