AS2 Issue - Binary file decryption

We are receiving binary file from our partner. After decryption file looks as below.

Which literally doesn’t make any sense. Did any of you saw this issue?

Multibyte character set perhaps? Was the original file “binary” e.g. an executable or something similar? Is the decrypted file intended to be human-readable?

Thanks for the reply.

Finally our partner came back and said that they changed the setting on the sterling commerce to use Ascii and it fixed the problem.

They are still investigating why this is the case.
