where is the Tamino Manager?

I’m trying to get tamino to work but I am experiencing “issues” with the trial version.

I have loaded up the documentation and the first thing it says about creating a database is “To start the Tamino Manager in Windows, use the shortcut Tamino Manager in the Tamino program group.”
There is no sign of a “tamino manager” shortcut anywhere in any program group. Furthermore, none of the links that were installed in my program group by tamino work.

I can say that I think the server install went OK because the configuration files on my machine seem to have been modified for all 3 of the webservers I have installed on this box (apache1, apache2, IIS6).

Sometimes i can get a response back from
http://localhost:81/tamino/mydb
which is
<?xml version='1.0'?>
<ino:response xmlns:ino=‘http://namespaces.softwareag.com/tamino/response2’>
<ino:message ino:returnvalue=‘8202’>
<ino:messagetext ino:code=‘INOXHE8202’>Tamino database unknown: mydb</ino:messagetext>
</ino:message>
</ino:response>

At other times, it just sits there and never comes back (doesn’t seem to have a timeout)

I’d really like to get a proof-of-concept working for a proposed CMS/Portal architecture I’d like to propose but I am stuck and need some help. Can you please point me to someone who can assist.

Thanks.

Tamino version 4.1.4.1
Windows XP SP1
Apache 1.3.27 (port 80)
Apache 2.0.45 (port 81)

It’s OK, I got it sorted.

I installed it a while ago and apparently hadn’t used the trial licence key. Very confusing if you don’t install the licence key.

Did you install Tamino using license key?

No I didn’t. I eventually worked at that was the problem. Seems to be OK now.
