WEBDAV URL Status Not Active

I am receiving the following. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Recently installed Tamino running on XP Prof.

Another generic question. What is WebDAV actually used for. Is it a publishing tool? I could use a better desciption of this feature.

Any help would be appreciated.

Either your database URL is wrong or the database is not running.
You can use Tamino Manager to verify the database name or to start the database.

WebDAV URL http://localhost:4000/taminowebdavserver
WebDAV Status not active

Hi,
is the WebDAV server accessible through the Internet Explorer, e.g. http://localhost:4000/taminowebdavserver or http://localhost/taminowebdavserver? If the latter is not working, WebDAV was not configured to be used with the web server. You have to change the WebDAV URL in the Server Info info page to include the port number, default is 4000 so the entry might read “localhost:4000” instead of “localhost”.
I hope this helped,
regards,
Gerald

P.S.: WebDAV makes the WEB writable, i.e. formerly it was only possible to retrieve information, with WebDAV authors can post and share content of the world-wide-web.
