Upgrade approach from 9.7 to 10.5

Are there any components that can be upgraded from 9.7 to 10.5 without an interim release?

No. You need to migrate to 9.12 then to 10.5

Yes, this is even the recommended approach by SAG.

For some old releases shown above, you cannot upgrade directly to the new release but rather must upgrade to
an interim release and then upgrade to the target release. To take advantage of automation improvements,
upgrade to the highest interim release possible.
