Is it possible to enter a wildcard into the Smart Rules Field “On alarm matching” Alarm type to accept all alarm types as an input to a Smart Rule?
No, if you set * as the alarm type, then the only alarm that will trigger the smart rule is one of type *.
Seems like an oversight if I wish to distribute all device generated alarms via email or SMS. That is not possible without specifying each possible alarm type in the Smart Rule prior to their creation.
Would be a good idea for a Feature Request. the alternative is to use an EPL, not a smart rule which souls be independent of type. There’s a sample in the Streaming Analytincs app that could be used as codebase.
