Problem in install Tomcat 4.1.31

Operation System:windows XP pro
JDK:SUN j2sdk1.4.2
WebContainer : Tamocat 4.1.31
Tamino XML server 4.1.4.1

Here are some information in Tamino X-Application Documentation\Installation\Configuring your Servlet Container:

To install Tomcat 4.1.18

Tamino X-Application has been tested with Tomcat 4.1.18. Thus we suggest using this version or a later 4.1 version of Tomcat.

1.Download Tomcat from http://jakarta.apache.org/.

2.Follow the instructions.

3.Set the JAVA_HOME environment variable to your JDK installation directory.

4.Set up the Tomcat Manager. The Tamino X-Application Generator GUI uses the Tomcat Manager when generating applications. If you want to use the Generator GUI, enable access from Tamino X-Application to the Tomcat Manager by adding the following lines to the file tomcat/conf/tomcat-users.xml immediately before the closing tag:

5.Start Tomcat using the file tomcat/bin/startup.bat.

6.Check the Tomcat setup by starting it.

7.Check the Tomcat Manager setup by selecting the corresponding link in the upper left-hand corner of the “Welcome” page. Enter the username and password combination you have previously added to the file tomcat-users.xml. The access should be established.

8.If you want to use schema definitions containing non-standard ASCII characters or collection or database names in non-standard ASCII notation, please refer to the Internationalization section for additional setup instructions.
Warning:
If you use an existing Tomcat installation: Ensure that the directories tomcat/common, tomcat/shared contain the original .jar and .class files. Otherwise, executing Tamino X-Appliction can lead to problems.

When I finished the step 5 I get the result like this:
Using CATALINA_BASE: …
Using CATALINA_HOME: …
Using CATALINA_TMPDIR: …\temp
Using JAVA_HOME: D:\PROGRA~1\J2SDK1~1.0_0

The question is:
1.Does the result mean Tomcat has been setup successfully?

2.When it comes to step7 I cannot find the “Welcome” page. Where can I find it?

3.About the Warning,I cannot find any .jar and .class file in tomcat/shared, except SetCharacterEncodingFilter.class in D:\Program Files\Apache Group\Tomcat 4.1\shared\classes\filters . So where can I find the original .jar and .class files?
