In the oracle url that needs to be provided during the installation ‘serviceName’ appears… Is that the name of the oracle instance that needs to be used?
During oracle installation I created an WMDB instance so I just need to put serviceName=WMDB or does it mean anything else?

Usually SID and ServiceName are identical on Oracle.

You should try using your WMDB, if it is not working check your DBA-Tool to which value the serviceName has been set.
