Moving to Webmethods 6.5

We are using webMethods to do the conversion process of IDOC to XML and vice versa for our business transactions.

Is it possible to have the new version of webMethods along with older version for a while. When the tesing process is completed then we want to move it to new version completely.

Will SAP adapter be able to communicate with two versions of webMethods. I don’t know much about webMethods as I am a SAP guy.

If the above phased approach is not possible , your suggestions to handle this scenario are appreciated.

Yes you can do it so. Could you be specific on what you want exactly?

This is bit tricky, SAP 4.6 is supported in all WM version where as SAP ECC6.* will be supported by WM6.5 onwards. So could you tell us what version of SAP system you are using it?

The version of SAP is 3.1I. Hope its supported by webMethods 6.5

I am looking at the configuration of the present SAP system and webMethods 4.6.

We have that Webmethod’s adapter sitting on our application server , which is not required in future as we move to webMethods 6.5 competely.

In SAP RFC destination configuration the program ID is given as “webm_idoc”. Is “webm_idoc” the program provided by webMethods adapter ?

If it is so what is the name of the program in the case of webMethods 6.5 ?

You have to the Program ID from your SAP team that did the configuration for RFC Destination on the SAP side.They can provide you this piece of info.
