IS on UNIX - Port < 1024

Hello,

I see in the SAG document - If your Integration Server runs on a UNIX system, using a port number below 1024
requires that the server run as “root.”

Could anyone please explain this?

Unlike Windows Unix (Flavors use ports less than 1024 for system/internal OS process use. and they are mostly controlled by root user.

So , recommended or best practice is to use port > 1024
