Short answer to your question, it is the same as IS/MWS/MSR. Doesn’t matter where you host your platform. It runs a stored procedure at the background. Just make sure you run it as SP not as service. MSR isn’t even needed for archive process. You can find more details from the documentation (document link is already in post above).
