Can't startup webMethods Integration Server

Hi Jesus,

Usually reinstall of those fixes should help to resolve the problem and it will happen only on new instances. As it occurs in your default instance, can you check if you have older version of Log4j in any of your packages under code/jars/static directory? Can you also provide bundles.info file located under profiles/IS_default/configuration/simpleconfigurator/ directory.

Thanks,
-Kalpesh

Hi

I dont have profiles/IS_default/configuration/simpleconfigurator directory

Im looked for log4j too but I dont know what jar is.

Hi Jesus,

Can you please provide SoftwareAG\profiles\IS_default\configuration\org.eclipse.equinox.simpleconfigurator\bundles.info file?

Thanks,
-Kalpesh

Hi, here the file
bundles.info.txt (59.4 KB)

Looking @ bundles.info, you don’t have log4j fixes installed. It is still pointing to 2.11.2

org.apache.logging.log4j.API,2.11.2,…/…/common/runtime/bundles/platform/eclipse/plugins/org.apache.logging.log4j.api_2.11.2.jar,4,true
org.apache.logging.log4j.core,2.11.2,…/…/common/runtime/bundles/platform/eclipse/plugins/org.apache.logging.log4j.core_2.11.2.jar,4,true
org.apache.logging.log4j.jcl,2.11.2,…/…/common/runtime/bundles/platform/eclipse/plugins/org.apache.logging.log4j.jcl_2.11.2.jar,4,true
org.apache.logging.log4j.jul,2.11.2,…/…/common/runtime/bundles/platform/eclipse/plugins/org.apache.logging.log4j.jul_2.11.2.jar,4,false
org.apache.logging.log4j.slf4j-impl,2.11.2,…/…/common/runtime/bundles/platform/eclipse/plugins/org.apache.logging.log4j.slf4j-impl_2.11.2.jar,4,true

Please have a look @ webMethods Fixes for Log4j Zero-Day security vulnerability - Service project (softwareag.com) and please make sure that you have the Log4j fixes installed.

Integration Server or Microservices Runtime > Integration Server Core 10.5 Fix 13

Third-Party Libraries > Shared Libraries Loggers 10.5 Fix 3

Infrastructure > Shared Platform > Platform 10.5.0 Fix 0019

Infrastructure > Shared Platform > Platform Updater 10.5 Fix 2

Infrastructure > Shared Platform > Platform Diagnostic 10.5 Fix 10

Important! wMFix.OSGI.Platform_10.5.0.0019-0701 (OGI_10.5_Fix19) is required for upgrading Integration Server to Log4j 2.17.1. Software AG Update Manager (SUM) does not select this automatically. In SUM, you must select Infrastructure > Shared Platform > Platform 10.5.0 Fix 0019 manually. Integration Server may not start after applying Integration Server Core 10.5 Fix13 if all required fixes are not applied as well. Software AG is working to resolve the limitation in SUM.

Thanks mate, yes it needs to be REINSTALLED even though you’ve already installed the fixes in the first place.

Kudos to you! :beers:

Please note this will be fixed in upcoming fixes IS_10.5_Core_Fix15 (released), IS_10.11_Core_Fix4, IS_10.7_Core_Fix8 and as a result it won’t be required to reinstall platform fixes on newly created instance.
