are you on Mainframe or OpenSystems? v6.2 on the mainframe is decades old. Even on OpenSystems, it is not a supported release, being about 5 years out of support.
Please clarify what you are working on. Are there any operating system messages associated with the task you are attempting to run?
It’s very old… like me. I worked on its development in '95 or maybe earlier.
Adabas for mainframes, ZVM 4.4.
I am trying to run adasav for several files. For one set of files it works, for another it doesn’t.
OS - no messages
ADABAS - no messages
DBA console - something like “ADASAV start with save tape nnnn…” and it freezes here and there is no access to any file.
Check your JES, SYSLOG messages (or whatever the equivalent system messages area is for z/VM). I would guess the OS is waiting for something: dataset (something else has it open?), disk (space, volume…), tape mount…
You’re on an antique OS, so it’s hard to guess what it is waiting for.
