Could someone tell me why hub and spoke model is better for companies with limited IT resources and bus model for large-scale environments?

I wouldn’t characterize the two architectures in the way that johnson_ths1 did. Both approaches are scalable.
Indeed, many “bus” products implement a “logical bus” in which there is still a central machine used to manage communication.
IMO, wM doesn’t offer a bus capability, even though they now have a product dubbed ESB. It’s a logical bus, but a physical hub and spoke.
