What is the diff bw WMpackages and JAVA packages

What are the differences between webMethod packages and Java Packages.

Hello,

Java packages describe a namespace for class files. WM IS packages describe a namespace for multiple files including java class, flow xml, web html, and others.

These namespaces translate to folders on a filesystem.

One thing, you would call a class starting at the top package in java, but you would call a service starting at the first inner folder. That leaves us to not be able to have two org.myclass:service services even being under different packages.

Also, the last folder before a java service is actually the name of the class that contains the method. So with org.myclass, myclass is the class containing static method “service”. Good day.

Take a look at Chapter 3: “Working with Packages” in the “Developer User’s Guide” for a description of Integration Server (IS) packages.
Integration Server (IS) packages group all the components of a logical unit in an integration solution. They are not like Java packages–they share the same name is all. IS packages are not part of the namespace. They are a configuration control mechanism only.
