Integration

Software AG's webMethods Integration Platform is a proven, pre-integrated software suite that enables enterprises to rapidly integrate systems, services, devices, processes, business partners, and data to provide new business value and improve business performance.

New microservices container: A new lightweight container supports modern reactive architectures for developing a single application as a suite of small services. This container will host these small services, provide dynamic lookup of service endpoints using a Consul registry, and support the circuit breaker architectural pattern. This container is fully compatible with Integration Server and can host all services developed on the Integration Server.

REST enhancements: Integration Server and Designer now support the ability to read a Swagger specification and automatically generate a REST API descriptor. Additionally, there is support for REST v2 and the OAuth 2.0 Introspection specification. IS can now authorize OAuth2 tokens issued by third-party identity providers like Ping Identity and Okta.

Universal Messaging: Enhancements are in the areas of performance and scale. Universal Messaging now supports pause publishing, which allows all client publishing to the server to be paused across channels, queues and data groups, and also supports serial durable subscriptions. In addition, there is a new utility to migrate Broker gateway configurations to Universal Messaging joins.

Connectivity enhancements: A redesign of the CloudStreams Connector Development Plugin for REST provides Swagger support. The new Terracotta DB Adapter enables simple “point and click” functionality to expose data from Terracotta DB, and also provides wizard-driven, code-free development of data services. An updated EDI module provides visibility into transaction set and code list metadata.

Cloud innovations: Introduction of 100+ recipes which are out-of- box templates allow citizen integrators to quickly integrate SaaS applications. Also available are 50+ connectors, including a new REST connector, to generically integrate with REST providers.

API management

Software AG’s webMethods API Management Platform provides a comprehensive solution that allows the developer community to find, learn about, discuss and test APIs via webMethods API Portal. The platform enables you to securely expose your APIs to third-party developers, partners and other consumers for use in web, mobile and Internet of Things (IoT) applications via webMethods API Gateway.

Single unified API gateway: A single runtime is provided for deployment in either the DMZ or secure network and replaces webMethods Mediator, webMethods Enterprise Gateway and the need for CentraSite with a new web-based UI. This easy-to- use UI allows for the creation, management and editing of APIs for REST, SOAP and websockets; smart policy management for API enforcement, plans and packages for API monetization; and advanced dashboards for analytics. Additionally, enhanced security policies for OAuth2, SAML, Kerberos, OpenID and JWT are available, and the ability to integrate with any OAuth2 authorization servers, including Ping Identity® and Okta®, is now possible.

API Portal enhancements: Look for easier customization of portal screens, the ability to generate 50+ client SDKs for APIs, and API try-out pages that allow testing of APIs protected with OAuth are now available. A new application marketplace is now provided for defining the applications built using APIs and the ability to do basic lifecycle management directly within the portal.

Platform enhancements: A new utility for migrating API Gateway from Mediator and Enterprise Gateway is available, staging support via Deployer, and Docker® support and enhancements to the CentraSite business UI are now.

webMethods Dynamic Apps

Software AG’s Digital Business platform includes all the capabilities required for Dynamic Process Automation (DPA), and enables the development of “next gen” digital apps that enhance your user experience, improve operational efficiencies and extend your business. webMethods Dynamic Apps allows you to build apps on the fly, embrace “citizen developers” from the business side of the house and, as your needs change, use the same platform to scale and build more complex apps as part of your overall digital transformation initiatives.

Dynamic Business Orchestrator: A new process engine allowing dynamic step and process injection with the ability to pause and fast forward a running instance. A fully clustered architecture allows efficient scaling out with reduced overhead. Advanced analytics provides full monitoring capabilities and free form text searches.

Robotic process automation: A new partner product offers automation of manual data entry tasks using robots either working in an attended mode (assisting human workers on a customer service process) or in an unattended mode (running a large batch of data entry and validation tasks without supervision) but with the ability to have human intervention in the case of exceptions.

UX/UI enhancements: webMethods Business Console AppSpaces and OpenUI gadgets in webMethods Mobile Business Console are now available. This includes scheduled delegations for task users, the ability to import webMethods AgileApps forms into OpenUI for customization and extensions, and hosting as a gadget in Business Console. All are now offered and viewable in the mobile app.

Predictive rules: webMethods Business Rules is integrated with Zementis to create a new rules action type called “Predictive Analytics Action." Additionally, users can now speed up the hot deployment of large rules projects by utilizing the new option to disable the verification of a rules project.

Optimize for Infrastructure: A new KPI and a rule for monitoring long-running threads reduces the risk of costly outages due to services running longer than expected. A new Command Central template is also available, which is preconfigured with all webMethods Optimize for Infrastructure defaults.

Suite enhancements

The webMethods Suite includes enhancements that improve functionality across multiple products.

Command Central: Composite template validation and export of product configuration as a composite template snippet simplify the development of custom product configurations. A stacks and layers UI provides graphical visibility into runtime landscapes while the repository-based asset deployment capabilities show dependencies between jobs.
