Web Services Addressing

Hi all,
Has anybody implemented Web Services Addressing in webMethods? I know it is not supported but the end we should be abel to build a proper message with some custom code and mapping. A little help, ramp-up or sample package would help us a lot.

We are especially interested in “reply endpoint” and “message ID”
BTW. we are on version 6, I know it is old, but can’t change it.

If it helps, here was the official view from SAG for our 7.1.2 instances (not sure if it’s the same for 6.x).

IS 7.1.2 does support WS-Security with some limitations, you can use the IS provided WS-Security Handler. Please refer the product documentation for more details on WS-Security support in IS 7.1.2. In case WS-Security handler is not good enough for your requirement then definitely you can write custom handler using apache wss4j APIs. Our Global Consulting Services have seen customer using this in the past.

As far as WS-Addressing is concerned, IS 7.1.2 does not support it out-of-the-box. Also developing a custom handler for full WS-Addressing can be a very complicated job because WS-Addressing can be synchronous or asynchronous or single channel or dual channel. To support all the scenarios there is a need to do some enhancements IS itself. In your case, if IS is acting as a consumer and your provider (hopefully non-IS) just needs WS-Addressing header in the soap message, then you can develop a custom handler for adding WS-Addressing headers in soap message.
