We are in the process of upgrade (IS, Broker, Modeler, Mainframe, TN, adapters (JDBC, EJB)) from 6.01 to 6.5.
Like to ask for your experience in :
(i) Are there any migration problems or issues from 6.01 to 6.5 migration?
(ii) Are there any Deprecated Services in 6.01,
(iii) Are there any precautions etc that needs to be taken?
(iv) Is it advisable to upgrade on the old machine or install a new copy on the new machine?
(v) Any documentation?
(vi) What are the steps to take?
The upgrade from 6.0.1 to 6.5 is not to bad now that most of the kinks have been worked out.
-Install a new environment if you can, much easier and can help make the upgrade smoother.
-There are changes in services from 6.0.1 to 6.5 including some which are deprecated. Check the release notes for all the changes
-There is an issue with some phantom variables in the flow services. It was actually a bug in 6.0.1 that has been fixed in 6.5. See this thread for more details.
-The overall biggest change is probably the introduction of the MwS.
-There is a ton of documentation on the upgrade and installation process. Check Advantage for that.
