Do we need to provide the password for the first time in our server while checking connectivity…after placing the public key in the target server.

Ideally sftp setup must not ask for password …during host key verfication if the key is added …can somone clarify way it is asking only for firsttime.

Are you using the SFTP services in 9.0 or newer WM? or the old way of connecting?

It is through openssh services

Is the password for accessing the local private key? If you don’t use password for authentication, it’s most likely the case.
