Require IDOC to EDIFACT format

Hi,

Please help me by providing Mapping Document between SAP IDOC to EDIFACT D97A format.

Required for:

outbound from SAP

 1. ORDERS ----- EDIFACT ORDERS D97A

inbound to SAP
2. EDIFACT DESADV -------- DESADV IDOC in SAP
3. EDIFACT ORDRSP -------- ORDRSP IDOC in SAP

Thanks in advance.

I think you’re assuming that such a mapping is standardized. It isn’t.

The contents of an IDoc can vary by installation.

The contents of EDIFACT documents will vary by partner.

You, or an analyst, are going to need to work with the SAP folks and each EDIFACT recipient to specify the correct mapping. EDI documents are usually defined using Implementation Guides which specify the segments and data elements to use and the allowable values. One guide defines one message type and version (e.g. ORDERS for D97A).

Your company may define a guide for all vendors to follow or each vendor may require that you use theirs. Using the guides in conjunction with knowledge of the IDocs that will be used will allow a mapping spec to be created.

Hi Reamon,

Thanks for the reply…Actually i’m an SAP consultant and i know the structure of IDOC but not aware of the EDIFACT mapping.

It would be appreciated if you could provide me the some example mapping documents between SAP Idoc(ORDERS,DESADV,ORDRSP) and EDIFACT.

Kindly help me.

Thanks in advance
Surya

Unfortunately I cannot share the mapping documents I’ve worked with due to contract restrictions.

Information about EDIFACT is available at http://www.stylusstudio.com/EDIFACT/. With this information and implementation guides you should be able to create what you need.

Supra,

Also check in the WmEDISamples package to know more about how EDI mapping works.for example:Tutorial, sampleServices folder.
