I am working on a process that reads table entries from a table of comments and presents the user with a list of these comments in a popup window. They must choose 1 to 5 of these comments to post with the record they are entering. Once they make their selections, a new popup window appears showing the comments, which are now protected so they can’t be written over. Additional lines are unprotected if they want to type in additional comments. If the user can’t find comments appropriate to what they are doing, they can choose the option “Comment not listed”. In this situation, the users want to be able to protect the words “Comment not listed” but leave the rest of the line unprotected for data entry. Is it possible to protect part of a field and unprotect the rest of the field?
