Please interpret this

I received a message from my manager, which reads like this :

The COBOL copybooks are now parsed by webMethods MIS (not coded in the IS)

Can anyone please interpret this.

Thanks

COBOL copybooks define data structures. MIS can read those to create document types of some sort (not IS doc types) so that MIS can parse data corresponding to those document types (somewhat like what the FF adapter does on IS). Basically the manager is telling you that MIS is doing some work that was (presumably) being done in IS before.

Depending upon how MIS and IS were set up, your job on IS should be some measure easier.
