Natural DB2 without using Adabas

Hello,

is it possible to run Natural on Mainframe without using Adabas, i.e. can the FNAT, FUSER, FDIC, FSEC and so on reside on DB2 tables? If not, what is the advantage of using DB2 over using Adabas, performance issues, comfort, license fees?

Natural for DB2 requires either Adabas or VSAM to store the mentioned system files.
