natural compatible versions

hello everyone
we are upgrading our OS to z\os 1.13
and i wanted to know if our natural version(4.2.5) is compatible or do i need to upgrade natural
prior to upgrading my os?

Hi Ishay,

To have official support for z/OS 1.13 you must be on at least NAT427.
If NAT425 will work I have no experience with.

Best regards,
Mogens

Hi Ishay,
As a “customer” I may tell you that our z/os 1.11 worked fine with NAT 4.2.5 (not the same OS as you can see).
Meanwhile, we are upgrading our NATURAL to the version 8.
Well, as the saying states, “practice is the best criterion of truth”

NK

If I remember correct z/OS 1.11 was supported by NAT425.

Best regards,
Mogens

My guess is that if the only differences between Nat 4.2.5 and 4.2.7 are truly sets of fixes, it shouldn’t make a difference. Even if some new features were implemented, it is still highly probable that it will work. Best would be to deploy in a sandbox LPAR and test your interfaces to CICS and z/OS (especially Entire System Server if you have it).

Will you also change CICS version along with the z/OS upgrade?

Best regards,
Mogens
