In Adabas version 7, there is a limit to the number of extents to DSST can have: 5. Every time the database is increased, a new extent will be created, and when 4 increases have taken place, a reorder must be used to return the DSST to only one extent. Some people use this trick to avoid having to reorder after 4 increases: when increasing, unload and then delete the file immediately after the DSST (often a dummy file is kept there), then increase the database, then load the file back into its former space, with the ACRABN set to the first RABN after the DSST.
Now we have a PPT, we can’t control the placement of the first file after the DSST. Is there any way of forcing the PPT to reside elsewhere?
