Is there a way to keep the ESCAPE key from closing the intial entry form without warning?

I have found that pressing the ESCAPE key on the initial entry window for an object will close the form without warning, even if you have filled out fields in the form.

This is the same behavior as the “Cancel” button, so in that sense it is consistent.

In both cases, it would be nice to be able to get a warning if the user has entered data in the fields because closing the window using either the “Cancel” button or the ESCAPE key.

Hi Howard,

I can acknowledge that this is really a problem especially on forms that have a lot of fields and i can imagine the plight of a user if he/she has entered a lot of data and then by mistake presses the ESC key.

I am tracking this with the team.
