Getting EDIFACT format 850 from customer via VAN

Hi All,

One of my requiremnt is to get the EDIFACT format 850 from customer and push into SAP.I want to how what configuartion settings are needed to be done in order to know that a document has come from customer via VAN.

That differentiates between UNEDIFACT and X12 documents format standards. For this you can search “EDIFACT 850” and pull back relevant results.

For the VAN issue, how do you connect to your VAN? There are different ways to connect, AS1, AS2, ANX, FTP, HTTP, etc. That is something you need to discuss with your VAN. If for example you connect via FTP, you would probably login into your ftp account and check for new documents in your remote folder.

Your two questions really are things to be answered by your customer (like if have the spec for the documents they are transferring) and your VAN (the connection type, login info, and security). Good day.

Narasimha,

Basically you have to poll the VAN mailbox(what ever your provider is like GXS or sterling to name a few…)via webMethods VAN FTP TN services and depends on the ISA,GS(X12),UNB/UNG (EDIFACT) id’s you have to setup in your VAN mail box and schedule certain interval to pull the documents from VAN no matter they are X12 or EDIFACT documents.
