Edit password strength for Cumulocity Tenant

Advanced Tenant cumulocity Version 1019.22.0 on cumulocity.com

Detailed explanation of the problem:

in the administration application there is a possibility to enforce the password strenght to strong (green).
The password strenght is set by the plattform: “By default, the password must meet the following conditions”

I have found the description that it is possible to set the passwort rules for the tenant. But in the administration application I didn’t find the configuration option. Is it possible for Advanced tenants to change the passwort rules?

Also I would like to know if it is possible to set password rules for the device Registration process. The passworts which are created by the plattform have also only a lenght of eight charecters.

Hi Valerian,

the documentation might be a bit misleading here. What you can configure on a tenant level is whether strong passwords are enforced or not. On cumulocity.com, I think strong passwords are always enforced. Further customization (like password length) are only possible on a per instance level, so not customizable for you.

Hello Harald,
thank you for the information. The enforce strong passwords are set on our Tenant. But every customer has his own definition of a strong password . Also with the new Version we don’t see the password strenght of the users anymore. It would be advantageous to have this option to have the access more secure. I will open a Feature Request and we will see if it is something that could be implemented in future releases.
