I would like to know what happens if you select the checkbox “Disable Local Queue” on an adapters performance tab. Does this only apply to Notification operations? What is the performace impact on an integration?

That little checkbox should really be labeled “Disable Once-and-only-once notification support”. Once-and-only-once notification support is currently only available in the JDBC adapter. So for all other adapters, it has no effect.
