Broker-to-Broker documents without territories

Hi,
Is it possible for a second broker (version 8.0) to be a broker client to another broker (version 6.5) and subscribe to specific documents being published - without using territories.
The reason for doing this is a staged migration from broker 6.5 to 8.0. I would want the 8.0 broker to get only a subset of documents from the older broker. I am hoping to do as little to current production server as possible (hence the reason in avoiding setting up territory on 6.5 and 8.0 and then using gateway).

Am I trying too hard and should I just set up each broker in a territory ?

Regards,
SM

Hello,

If you are using JMS , you can configure another broker server properties directly without using territory.

We have both JMS and standard broker pub-sub. Not sure what you mean…

I think Broker territories with a gateway is the way to go.

Territory for the 6.5 Broker
Territory for the 8.0 Broker
Gateway between them, specifying the allowed doc types desired to be shared

I have seen this arrangement work (between 6.5 and 7.1.2).

I’m not aware of any other way for Brokers to interact with each other.

Territory approach between 6.5 and 8.0 works well. Got it setup in MWS in minutes.

Hi,
