In my opinion the best/only way to learn about Software AG webMethods BAM is to attend a formal Software AG training course. Otherwise if you attempt to learn this by picking up examples from here and there then you will end up struggling and getting it wrong when it matters (i.e. when you start working on a real project). So I would suggest speaking to your management to get you (and your colleagues) onto a training course.
