ARIS Connect Designer vs ARIS Designer

Can someone tell me the difference between ARIS Connect Designer and ARIS Designer

I don’t have a full list, but some aspects to consider:

  • Connect Designer runs in the browser, with no dependencies on a Java client (which can be a bit of a hassle after Oracle bought the rights, and forced us to shift to OpenJDK)
  • Connect Designer lacks some capabilities (mostly power user):
  1. Macros are severely limited, and queries and ad hoc analyses entirely missing
  2. No support for fragments
  3. Limited administration capabilities: Architect license holders will still need the Designer client.
