We are upgrading from webMethods 6.5 to 8.2. This is the approach we are following is to install 8.2 on a new box and the migrate the 6.5 packages to the 8.2 box. Could you please let me know the precautions I need to take and the steps to follow for this kind of an approach.

Please refer to the product document first… It is not just packages that needs to be migrated, but a lot more assets are there, and utilities are provided to execute migration in a ‘right way’.
