webMethods 7.1.2 RedLinux Vs Windows

Has someone evaluated webMethods 7.1.2 on RedLinux Vs Windows platform. Need to measure its performance/support on these OS.

I really haven’t seen much difference in the way of performance. I think one would kind of expect that since they are running off the same core hardware. In the past there were a couple of components that were not ported to the Linux version of the webMethods suite. I believe they have the full line over there now minus the development tools. But you should check their advantage site and get the full list of supported components by OS. It’s a pretty useful guide.

Beyond that I would use the strengths of my operations group. If you are a strong Linux shop then lean that way, if a strong Windows then lean that way. If you are fortunate enough to be a strong shop in both then flip a coin.
