MQ Adapter generating lots of messages

When an error is detected on an MQ msgHandler and it disables itself, from green to red, and I then re-enable manually it seems to generates a multitude of messages unexpectedly. They look like oldish messages. This doesn’t happen often.

I am running webMethods IS 6.0.1 on Windows 2000, Version 3.0 of the MQ Adapter and version 5.3 of MQ.

Anyone got any ideas?

What are the messages? Is this a Listener service? Which SP/Fixes have you applied?
