wM Gurus …I just want to bind the ip with the instance…someone please help!

All your inputs would be monumentally appreciated !
Sincerely,

I got this info from an IS admin at a former client (thanks Jon!):
The file to edit is …/packages/WmRoot/config/listeners.cnf.
The safest way to edit things is to use the Administrator UI. When using this, the hostname is resolved to the IP and the IP is saved in the file. If you don’t want this behavior, you’ll need to edit listener.cnf by hand.
The Administrator UI doesn’t let you bind the default port. There are two ways to overcome this:
-
Set another port as the default temporarily. Edit the port as needed, then restore it as the default port.
-
Edit listeners.cnf. I think IS needs to be shutdown as I believe the file is rewritten on shutdown. Put this entry in the appropriate record:
hostname
and use the appropriate IP or hostname.
HTH.
Rob,
You rock dude !
Thanks a gazillion for this…

Plus i was wrong about the port.cnf.
I should have mentioned listeners.cnf instead.
Thanks a lot Eamon.
